Now that I’ve been eating healthier the past few months, the temptations have significantly decreased. The fatty, sugary foods just don’t appeal to me anymore. Definitely not complaining about that! I’m still a sucker for chocolate, though, and have found a few solutions to satisfy my sweet tooth without increasing my waistline.
I love Trader Joe’s. If you have one in your area, you know that they sell natural foods at great prices. If I could, I would do all of my shopping there. While browsing the aisles the past couple weeks, look what I discovered!
Yes, you read it correctly! Cookie Butter!!! Crazy right?!
It looks like peanut butter but is really Belgian cookies that are crushed and used to create this delicious spread. It tastes like a mix between gingerbread and a salty pretzel. But there’s no salt added at all.
This one is made with rich cocoa and almonds. It has a rich chocolate taste with a hint of almond.
Both are not exactly low in calories, so I usually just have a small spoon full of one or the other for dessert or use it as a dip for fruit. Tonight I had a small portion of each with fresh strawberries. So good.
